These are sculptures in downtown Kansas City commissioned 10 years ago or thereabouts. This is a view on an overcast day from my balcony, looking south. Now, folks, I'd like for someone to explain to me how these can legitimately be called "sculptures". For all the world they look like a spaceship docking area to me, and I keep watching for the Mothership to arrive. At night they are lit with lights up top, blinking and flashing, as if to signal incoming aliens. I just want to assure the public that I am staying on guard and watching for any alien arrival.
